A beautiful beach day

Good morning! I hope you are all having a great week so far. This morning began with a fun 2 mile interval run and a bodyweight circuit workout. Tuesday always feels like Monday for me since it basically is my Monday at work. Blah. But, my husband & I started this week with a bang: we went to the beach!

It was an absolutely beautiful beach day at Hampton Beach! I was so excited to finally be able to spend the whole day with my husband. We began the fun day with breakfast at our favorite diner, Lou Roc’s. Whenever we go out to breakfast (which is not often at all) we always go here. I got a bowl of fruit and an (unpictured) english muffin, Michael got the “big breakfast” which came with pancakes, hash browns, sausage, bacon, two eggs, and toast. I stole a few bites of his pancakes, because they were lookin’ so delicious! We both also got (much needed) coffees and waters.

After breakfast, we were off to the beach! There was terrible traffic all the way there, so it took a bit longer than usual, but no worries. It was a beautiful day…not too hot, with a nice breeze. I really wish I could just be on the beach every single day.

Since we have been so used to Florida/Bahamas water, we walked right into the ocean as if we weren’t about to enter in an ICE BATH. Yikes! That water was FREEZING!!!! Michael still braved it and went in, but I stayed up by the sand where nothing on my body was touching that ice cold water. 😉

Every year, they have a Sand Sculpture Event, which just so happened to be last week, so all the sand sculptures were still up for viewing. They were so cool! I snapped a few pictures of some that I thought were neat.img_9341

For lunch we hit up our favorite little place, Sabo’s Subs. They whip up the best “Syrian subs” aka wraps.

It has been about two years since we’ve been to the beach, and were very very happy with the changes Sabo’s has made. In my understanding it is under new ownership, and the new owners have most definitely turned the place around completely! The staff are very friendly, and the atmosphere is very clean with a surfer vibe. We love it even more than before 😉

I ordered a vegetarian wrap with tomatoes, pickles, lettuce, and mustard, and Michael ordered an Italian wrap. YUM! Just as good as we remember!!

After eating, we strolled into the candy store to buy some candy to bring home for my nephews. I bought them some cute lollipops and a bag of pink cotton candy. Michael wandered over to the cinnamon glazed nuts, we just had to buy a bag of cinnamon glazed pecans…mmm those smelt and tasted so yummy!

We went back to our blankets on the beach for a couple hours more, having a great time enjoying the weather and being together.

We headed home mid-afternoon to avoid getting stuck in more traffic, and luckily we timed it just right! We were so exhausted by the time we got home. After (much needed) showers, we watched the new episode of Power, OMG. Do you watch that show? We love it so much, I wish we could just watch every episode one after the other. The suspense of what is going to happen is killing me! By 9:15 we were both ready for bed since we are both party animals 😉

It was a great day for sure!

I hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday! Xoxo
