Our first day in Disney World

Good morning! Happy Tuesday to you! We are back home and it is very rainy and chilly out, which is totally depressing. Such a change from Florida..it was sunny, 97 degrees, and HOT!

After writing up that blog post on the plane yesterday, the rest of the flight was all bumpy until we landed. Fortunately, I was okay and didn’t go into panic mode like I did when I got on the plane. I felt like it was just a day of unfortunate events and nothing really was going to go as planned. Like: our flight to Worcester getting cancelled, so we had to get on a plane to Boston, that flight getting delayed (to a time which makes us land during TRAFFIC time), then our flight being changed to a different gate…Wanna know what else happened? When we finally landed and got to our gate, the door didn’t open. HAHA. So we waited about 15 minutes until they got it open. We finally got home last night at about 7:30 last night. As you can imagine, we were so tired and hungry. My awesome Dad got us food so we were able to eat and relax for the rest of the night. Oh, and even though we were only gone for the weekend I have so much laundry and cleaning to do! Ah!

This morning I woke up a bit later than usual, but am still so exhausted. I feel like I am sleeping with my eyes open. Because of my sleepiness, I didn’t get a run in this morning but I did do a 15 minute ab workout. Let me tell you, I was so excited to sip my DD coffee this morning and watch Live with Kelly & Ryan.

Our Disney weekend getaway was SO MUCH FUN! We took a flight out of Boston to Orlando on Friday afternoon and after MORE unfortunate events (one of our pilots was not feeling well and had to leave our plane, so we had to wait an hour for another pilot to hop on in and take us all to Orlando…wtf?!? Do I have the worst luck or what?!) Shellie May traveled with us of course 😉

Anyways, we arrived in Orlando by 4:30, got our rental car, and drove over to Coronado Springs Resort. Ummmmmm no. We did not like it there AT ALL folks. So, I called down to the front desk and asked if we were able to switch resorts, preferably Animal Kingdom Lodge. Luckily, the amazing cast member I spoke with was able to get us a room in the Kidani Village!! YAY! You know we love it there! We were in room 7823, which is just a deluxe studio room. The beds are magical in this resort..you pretty much melt in the bed.

Once getting in the room, it was 6:30 pm already..ahhhh!! We hopped in our car and drove over to Epcot. We had FastPasses for Soarin’, then went to dinner at The Garden Grill! 🙂

At The Garden Grill, you get to meet Mickey, Pluto, and Chip & Dale.

Chip & Dale were extra silly and were trying to steal my ears from me. Haha. I had SO much fun!! Michael is such an amazing husband to do these things with me, all because he knows it makes me very very happy! (Thanks babe!)

It is ALL YOU CAN EAT! The food was absolutely delicious. They have vegan and vegetarian options for us who don’t eat meat and all that stuff! So, me being picky, I just asked for my own huge salad bowl without eggs, a platter with rice pilaf, vegetables, and green beans. Michael got their regular salad that came with the eggs and creamy ranch dressing. His platter had beef, turkey, mashed potatoes, vegetables, and rice. They also gave us a plate of macaroni and cheese with goldfish crackers, and french fries. The dessert was a HUGE strawberry shortcake with berries. You see, SO MUCH FOOD! We were stuffed, and were ready to head back to our room because we were so sleepy. When walking out we bumped into a Disbride sister of mine, Courtney! We talked while walking out of the park with her and took a picture of course! 🙂 img_1751

Getting back into our room at Animal Kingdom Lodge was SO much better than going to Coronado. It just totally wasn’t for us, my friends! It’s safe to say that I am pretty picky when it comes to hotel rooms, and I am probably only going to book rooms from now on in the deluxe resorts and villas. (Besides when we go in February, because that is already booked and we are staying at Port Orleans Riverside…fingers crossed it is okay!) I had a hard time sleeping that night because I was so excited and felt like we had SO much to do with such little time! I finally got to sleep after midnight and was ready to go at 6:30 the next morning…

It was a great start to our weekend! Stay tuned for more! What did you do this past weekend? Anything fun?!

I hope you all have a fabulous day! Let’s hope I get some pixie dust to wake up!! 😉 Xoxo
