Weekend Recap: The weekend of little sleep

Good morning! Happy Monday!

How did your weekend go? I had a pretty low key weekend. I guess you can say I had the worst sleep ever all weekend. I don’t know what is going on, but this girl needs to get some sleep! Luckily, last night was a much better night than others, so I am a bit more awake today….or just loaded up on caffeine 😉

Friday after posting, I went to school to sub in a preschool classroom. That went pretty well actually! It was just a bit challenging because the preschool classrooms in that school are all inclusion classrooms, where I don’t really have a lot of experience in those types of classes. But, like I said before, I used to teach preschool and kindergarten so I am a bit more comfortable in there than other grades. After, I came home really quick to change, and then worked at the store until closing. Side note: whenever I get home from teaching I strip off those clothes and change because I feel like I am totally germy. Any other teacher friends feel that way?! Haha.

Since I hadn’t really slept well the night before, I was a complete zombie and just super tired…I think those little ones took the life out of me. But, after the work day was done, it was me, my couch, and the Hallmark Channel movies alllllll night long.img_2401

Saturday started with a 4 mile run on my treadmill, then work at the store until 3. I went over to my parent’s house after to sit outside on their deck because it was so beautiful out! img_2387

A little bit after, I went to my sisters house to go on a Starbucks run with her and the boys! Green teas for us and cake pops for the boys!img_2390

I couldn’t help but snap a picture of the beautiful sunset once we got back to her house…you can kind of see to the left of the sun there was a bit of a rainbow peeking out of the clouds. So pretty!

I stayed over their house for a little while for some playtime. Gio recently got a guitar and is all about putting shows on for people. He is just too cute with his performances!! “Hi, my name is Gio and I am going to play you a song.” Ohhhhhh my heart!

The rest of the night was spent once again watching Hallmark Channel movies. I had the most horrible sleep ever Saturday night. Wait a minute, sleep? No that’s a lie. I did not sleep. I was so anxious and was up all night worrying more than I actually slept. No fun.

Sunday morning I opened my eyes at 6:30, debating whether or not I wanted to sleep in and declare a rest day. But, I didn’t take the chance for a rest day. I got up and got on the treadmill for a 40 minute run/incline walk, followed by some planks afterwards. Needless to say, I was super tired allllllll day long. Even my DD coffee didn’t do the trick to wake me up.img_2400

I went to the grocery store with my Dad to get some things. img_2402

And to tell you the truth, the rest of the day was spent relaxing on the couch…and I even took a nap around 4. (Which, if you are a frequent reader around here, you know that doesn’t happen often). Michael & I caught up on a few of our shows: How To Get Away With Murder, and Chicago P.D., and watched a bunch of football. I definitely slept much better than the previous nights.

This morning was another morning of silently debating to myself whether or not I wanted to get up and work out because I think I really could have slept all morning. But, I decided to get my bum out of bed and get my workout on! Today I did a 30 minute HIIT bodyweight circuit workout that had me sweating a lot! Most of the time on days when I just don’t really feel like working out, my workouts are even better than usual and are intense! I definitely felt like I kicked some butt! After, I showered and quickly got ready to get over to my sister’s house to snuggle with the babes before bringing Gio to school. I mean, isn’t morning snuggles with some babes just the best thing in the world?!

As of now, I am going to head back over to my sister’s house to get Starbucks and pick Gio up from school!

Have a beautiful day, loves!! Xoxo ♥♥
