Thanksgiving Weekend

Good morning! Happy Monday!!! How are you doing? I hope you had a great Thanksgiving weekend!! I certainly have had one long weekend (and still going) since I’ve been off work since Thursday for Thanksgiving!! It has been glorious and just what I needed….seeing as though I woke up on Friday morning with a stuffed up nose, only to find out I have ANOTHER cold!! I cannot believe this! I have been catching everything lately! It was inevitable though, Michael had a cold in the beginning of the week so I was bound to catch it from him. So, this long weekend was definitely a weekend of REST and trying to get better!

Did you score on any great Black Friday sales?? I certainly did!! I didn’t actually go to the stores though, I shopped all the sales online…the best way to shop in my opinion! I scored at Express, Lulus, Walter & Rosie Candle Co, and Victoria’s Secret! (Oh wait, you shop Black Friday for OTHERS and not for yourself? Oops. I didn’t get that memo yet. I shopped for myself, and will do Christmas shopping soon! Haha) Once I get everything in I will post about what I bought, but for now I will just tell you guys that I bought some new leggings, a couple dresses, lots of candles, and a bunch of sweatshirts!

Other than online shopping on Friday…my day consisted of watching lots of Christmas movies on TV. Mostly on the Hallmark Channel. I just can’t get enough! Around 6, I went over to my parent’s house because I had a date with my Mama! We had plans to watch a movie and do something other than hangout together at work 😉 (which I love, don’t get me wrong, but it was nice to be together and watch a movie!) We watched Home Again with Reese Witherspoon, and was sadly disappointed in the script. I was not amused that she was with some 20-something year old…but I guess I should have expected that? I mean, I guess I totally took the preview of the movie the wrong way. Whoops. However, it was a great night!! I love movie nights with my Mama!MV5BNDMxNTQ0NjIwOV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwODE5NjA5MjI@._V1_UX182_CR0,0,182,268_AL_.jpg

My cold fully hit me on Saturday, when I got no sleep the night before because I couldn’t breathe out of my nose. I stayed in bed longer than usual, waking up a little after 8:15 and getting in an easy 30 minute incline walk on the treadmill. See, I sometimes have a hard time “resting”After my little workout, my morning was spent sipping on my DD coffee, watching Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel, as usual.img_2835I figured it was good to get some fresh air, so later in the afternoon my parent’s picked me up for a Home Goods outing!! My Dad went into a different store and waited for us in the car while us girls went crazy inside. I mean seriously, how can you ever NOT buy ALL THE THINGS when you go to Home Goods?! We definitely could have went crazier, but I think our carriage speaks for itself. I got some new pillows for our couch, some new Kate Spade sheets for our bed (score!!), and some other little things. 🙂

I went to my sister’s house to see my nephews. We played with Lego’s and Gio amazed me by the house he made. His imagination is wild, and I wish I took a picture of our creation. We had everything we needed in a house all from a living room, to a bathroom, to a FURNACE! Where did this kiddo come from?! 😉 Just such a smarty!!

The rest of the night I was snuggled up in my blankets watching Jingle All The Way. (C’mon guys, I know it’s kind of an old and silly movie, but I will always love it!) MV5BMmJlYzViNzctMjQ1Ni00ZWQ4LThkN2YtMzI2ZGU5Nzk0NTAyXkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyMTQxNzMzNDI@._V1_UX182_CR0,0,182,268_AL_.jpg

Day twenty five (Saturday) I was thankful for spending time shopping and watching a movie on Friday with my Mama!!

Sunday I opted to stay in bed a little later than usual again, because it was another night of trying to breathe out of my mouth. I can’t wait to be able to breathe out of my nose again! I got up around 8ish and got in a quick 20 minute ab workout, followed by bursts of cardio moves for 10 minutes. My head was kind of killing me because of all of the pressure from my nose. Gross.

Of course, Sunday morning looked a lot like Saturday morning with my DD coffee and a Christmas movie on the Hallmark Channel. (Did you expect anything else from me?!)img_2839

I went to the grocery store with my Dad mid morning, then headed over to my sister’s house to get some snuggles from my boos. They are sick too; they have coughs and a stuffy nose. Luckily I don’t have a cough, yet….

I spent the rest of the day at home, watching football, taking naps, and snuggling with Michael. We watched some of Miss Universe last night. He actually said NO WAY to the Hallmark Channel (don’t worry, I dvr’d the new movie that was on last night) and said ok to Miss Universe. Poor guy has seen his fair share of Hallmark movies, so I can definitely understand that he would rather watch pretty ladies from all around the world instead! 😉 He worked all day and night Friday and Saturday, so I was glad to have him home on Sunday!

Day twenty six (Sunday) I was thankful for this super long weekend!! Man, did I really need it!

This morning I woke up feeling a bit more refreshed than any other day since this cold hit. My nose is still super stuffy, but the pounding in my head and face has stopped! This is great news! Because of this, I was ready for one good and sweaty workout, and boy did I get one! I started with a 20 minute bodyweight cardio workout consisting of lots of high knees, skaters, jumping jacks, squats, and burpees. I then got on my treadmill for a 3.5 mile run. It felt great to get back into it!!

Today I am thankful for Christmas music. It’s silly to say, but listening to Christmas music instantly puts me in the good mood and calms me down no matter what is going on around me. It brings me back to being a child on Christmas Eve, singing Christmas carols at my Grammy & Grampy’s house before opening presents. ♥
