Weekend Recap: Birthday Celebration!

Good morning!! Happy Monday to you!! It is officially my BIRTHDAY WEEK!!! YAY!giphy

I am coming at you today feeling so beyond grateful and blessed after this past weekend. I honestly have the best family a girl could ask for. If you know me at all, you know I am a big family girl. I work with my Mama so I am with her all the time, usually see my Dad every day (and call him every day more than once a day), see my nephews as much as possible, and just love my brother and sister so much. They celebrated my birthday (early) with me on Sunday afternoon and I was feeling so beyond thankful. It was a great weekend over here because of that, and I hope you had a great one also!

Friday morning started with a 40 minute HIIT run, and a 15 minute ab workout, coffee, then work. We even had some visitors at the store!! 🙂 HOW CUTE!

At our cosmetics store we actually have a small children’s table with puzzles for when customers come in with their little ones to keep the babes busy, or when my boo’s come in! They totally made the day better and made us forget we were even at work, which is definitely a plus. I had a nail appointment in the afternoon and then went back to work until 4. I know it had only been like a week since my last nail appointment, but I needed pretty nails for my birthday week and my nail tech is just super busy all the time, so I take any appointments I can get with her! After work, I hit up Starbucks of course, and ran a couple errands. Once I got home, I went all crazy cleaning lady on this place: stripped our bed, put on clean sheets (there’s something about a clean bed that makes you feel so great, right?), dusted, vacuumed, mopped, did laundry, folded said laundry, and made sure this place was looking better. Boom! Clean apartment! After that I plopped on the couch and tuned into the latest episode of Real Housewives of New York City. I still don’t know how I feel about this season, but I will always love Bethenny 🙂

Saturday morning started with a 30 minute run/walk on the treadmill, followed by 10 minutes of planks. Nothing too exciting happened, and I honestly don’t really remember much about the day…probably because it wasn’t so fabulous. Haha. I had to work until mid afternoon, hit up Starbucks, then ran a lot of errands. I was running around all afternoon and didn’t get home until about 7, but once I did I put on the Hallmark Channel and was smiling a cheesy grin from ear to ear because of the sweet love stories. I just love them. Don’t you?

Sunday was a great day! I got to spend the day with Michael…finally! It’s been a little tough not being able to spend time with him all week, but having that one day together is good enough for me! I definitely soaked it all up. I woke up a bit later than usual, snuggling in bed and not wanting to get up to be honest. When I finally did decide to get up, I did a quick 20 minute ab workout and called it a day. I really wasn’t feeling the treadmill, and gave it so many eye rolls as I was contemplating a run. But I decided against it because I knew I could just run today if I wanted to instead. Michael and I went to the grocery store to get ALLLLL the produce. Literally I think we got every single thing. He makes this shake (that is disgusting in my opinion) with everything you can think of from the produce section. Brussel sprouts? Yup, blend that sh** up. I mean, I get the spinach, bananas, potato, and berries, but everything else makes me a little hesitant on whether or not it actually tastes good…because it definitely does not smell good. (Don’t worry, I love you anyways babe) 😉 Anyways, back to our day! Once we got home I don’t know what got into me but I was determined to clean out some of my drawers in my tall dresser. Seriously, I have SO MANY CLOTHES that I don’t even wear anymore. Especially dresses. I am totally weird about them and I don’t want to wear them more than once…especially if I have taken a picture in them. But that is for another day because all of those dresses are in my closet and yesterday I strictly stuck to the drawers FILLED with what felt like a million Victoria’s Secret PINK sweatshirts. I have a huge trash bag filled with maybe 30-40 of them, and then another 25 I am trying to sell online. And I didn’t even finish. Haha. I still have about 9 drawers left….and then that closet! AHH!!! I have been meaning to do this a while ago because I can’t even fit anything anywhere anymore. It is getting a little ridiculous if I do say so myself. I tackled those drawers for about an hour and happily sat on the couch with Michael and tuned into the newest Jersey Shore (ugh, Ronnie get over Sam) and S.W.A.T. (we love this show so much, if only it could be on every single day, that would be great).

Later in the afternoon it was time to go over to my parent’s house for my early birthday celebration! IT WAS FANTASTIC!!

My parent’s got me a marble cake with best creme frosting, a gigantic fruit salad, and cool whip. Yum.

Everyone sang happy birthday to me, and I couldn’t even handle the happiness when listening to Gio sing. OMG. I die. My boo’s helped me blow out my candles. Enzo was super excited and just kept saying “blow out” about 30 times before we actually got to do it.

After digging into cake (and fruit with cool whip), it was time for presents!!

If you follow me on Instagram you probably already saw some of these pictures, as well as what I got from my family, buttttt it’s just too great to not put it on here too.

My parents got me a bunch of goodies! An Alex and Ani bracelet set, a Mickey necklace that says “to my daughter, if you can dream it you can do it”, and perfume. My sister, brother in law, and my nephews got me beautiful pink Kate Spade earrings. And my brother got me a surprise Disney keychain that came in a pack (I got Belle!!!), and Disney princess headphones that have a tiara on top!! I am obsessed with everything and was feeling so spoiled!

Clearly, I am a child and my family totally just gets me! Michael and I came home after a couple hours of hanging out. We watched some more of our shows that we had on DVR as I was online shopping at Victoria’s Secret. They were having a Pink Nation members only promotion going on last night, and I just can never pass up a good deal! And anyways, I needed to compensate for the old sweatshirts I am getting rid of….right? 🙂

This morning started with a 30 minute full body circuit workout, and a 30 minute run on the treadmill. When I went outside to go to my car to go get a coffee, to my surprise, I realized it had snowed last night and now it is raining, so the roads are pretty icy as well as the ground. It’s like mushy but hard snow which makes walking pretttttty hard. I just don’t understand this crazy weather. The other day it was pretty nice out reaching around 70 degrees and now it is in the 30’s with snow and ice! Gross!! I need warm sunshine and this awful, depressing weather really just makes me want to stay home in my jammies all day. On the other hand, it makes looking forward to vacation that much better…29 days, guys!! I am super excited and need to buy some dresses for it. I have about 20 of them on Lulu’s that are in my shopping cart, but I just need to decide which ones I am going to get, because I definitely don’t need 20, more like 6. Actually, I think I will get on that today! I have to leave enough time so that I can return and order something else if I don’t like it/if it doesn’t fit right, you know?! I am getting my eyelashes done later today, thank God!! I swear about 28 of them came off this morning all at once and I definitely can’t walk around with ugly eyelashes for my birthday week! 😉 I am really going to try to enjoy these last two days as a 27 year old, but I have a feeling 28 is going to be great!

I hope you have a fabulous day!

What did your weekend look like?

  1. Happy early birthday! I will be turning 28 this year too. What a good year 1990 must have been. I was not so lucky to go to Disney every year for my birthday BUT I think that’s because my parents would have gone crazy with the heat … they LOVE the cold. Weird, I know!
Love that you are selling PINK stuff and replacing it with MORE Victoria Secret stuff! 😉
