Leaving the Bahamas: it’s always a sad day when you have to go home

Happy hump day!! I hope you are having a great week. If not, at least we are half way to the weekend 😉

I haven’t really been sleeping all that great for like two weeks. I just can’t seem to either get to sleep, or stay asleep, and feel rested when I wake up. Not to mention I have nightmares more often than I did when I was a child. Blah. I’m praying I get some well rested sleep soon, my body sure does need it. Despite my lack of good sleep last night, I still got a workout in this morning: a 25 minute HIIT run, and a quick 10 minute ab workout.

I’m back today with my final recap from our amazing vacay. It’s hard to believe this vacation was almost one month ago, when it feels like forever ago. Missed any of the other posts? Find my Delray Beach posts here, here, and here. And my Bahamas posts here, here, here, here, and here.

Let’s get right to it! Leaving the Bahamas: it’s always a sad day when you have to go home

It was a sad morning (well for me, Michael is odd and likes going home from vacation) as we packed up our luggage, looked out at the beautiful ocean from our balcony, and said goodbye to the gorgeousness around us.

We met up with our butler Scott for the very last time, said our goodbyes, and hopped in our Rolls Royce to get to the airport.

If only we could literally have a chauffeur at all times in that car, even at home, that would be prettttty nice 😉

We arrived at the airport, and first things first: COFFEE. We knew a Dunkin’ was in there and I was very pumped. I was also on a hunt to find some fruit, because in past years I can remember I was sadly disappointed by no fruit at the airport. Behold, we walked up to this restaurant, asked this nice man who was working there if they had any fruit and he said “yes, all kinds! Melons, berries, oranges…’s very good”. I think I pretty much squeaked with excitement and he ushered us to a seat where he said he would personally take care of us…..we didn’t even need to order and in no time, a yummy fruit plate came out for each of us! Nom nom nom!

Shortly after it was time for us to get on the plane (boo hoo) to Ft. Lauderdale for our connecting flight home. It was a beautiful flight, but I was very sad to be leaving paradise.

We landed in Ft. Lauderdale (cough I hate that airport cough) and found out our flight was delayed about an hour, but we were back on the plane within a couple hours and on our way home. ‘Home’ looks super ugly compared to Florida in my opinion. Here, I’ll show you…the proof is below: first picture is in Florida (you see, blue skies and beauty), the next one is when we were landing here in Massachusetts (you see, all I see in that picture is brown and green and no prettiness). Blah.

Anyways, we landed and I was one sleepy girl, but was welcomed by the sweetest sign done by my Mama in the car when my Dad arrived at the airport. How sweet 🙂

It was truly an amazing vacation, one that holds many great memories. You all know I am all about taking vacations and making lasting memories with my husband. We don’t get to spend that much time together at home, so I always appreciate spending time with him on any vacation we go on! I am counting down the days until our next one…

Have a fabulous day!! Xoxo ♥♥
