Thank you for the positive messages about my last post. I always feel nervous and very anxious whenever I publish a more vulnerable and honest post. I never know how my readers will take it, but I usually feel like if I am feeling a certain way, maybe one of you have felt similar. I think the comparison trap is something that most (if not all) of us fall into sometimes. I know it’s hard, but we gotta get out of it and realize how extremely blessed we are and how we are special and beautiful each and every one of us is!
Now, let’s jump into what my weekend looked like. Oh, and here’s a little warning for you: it’s not all that exciting…just a regular weekend over here!
Friday was a wonderful day once I got out of work. We closed an hour early, so I got to come home and get comfy on the couch with my Kind is the New Classy book before Michael got home from work. A little after he got home, we went to the mall so I could do a little bit of damage at Victoria’s Secret. I promise I didn’t plan on doing any damage to tell you the truth, I just wanted a couple new shirts and you know what I did? I literally spent over $100 on THREE T-SHIRTS. Like, short sleeve shirts. I kid you not. I sometimes (okay, more like most of the time) shop without looking at price tags (Michael hates it, sorry boo) and it totally bit me in the butt this time. I got to the check out counter and ended up spending (in my opinion) too much money on only 3 short sleeve shirts. I mean, if they were sweatshirts I would totally expect to spend way over $100, but short sleeve t-shirts? In my defense, they are SO CUTE, so that justifies it all. Once we left the mall, I got a tea from Starbucks and laughed all the way to pick up food for dinner. Literally, I don’t know what was up with us but Michael was being so hilarious and I was laughing to the point my abs hurt just from laughing. He even took a selfie of himself and posted it on my story without my knowledge. Haha!
I love times like that so much! For dinner, I picked up a salad (as usual) and we got him a burger at Five Guys. Okay, for real though, here is some proof of silliness:
Saturday morning was a little rough, I gotta be honest. I was not feeling so great (thanks, mean and evil lady friend), so it was tough to get in a workout because I was feeling weak and dizzy. I only ran for 15 minutes before stopping and walking for another 20 minutes. I figured it was better to keep it easy since I really wasn’t feeling all that great. I had to work until mid afternoon and then went over to my sister’s house to play with my nephews for a little bit before coming home and sneaking in a quick workout since I was feeling much better as the day went on. (But not before hitting up Starbucks, of course.) I just did some bodyweight cardio: jumping jacks, squats, mountain climbers, burpees, and plank jacks; 30 times each and repeated it 3 times. I read, and watched the latest episode of Shahs of Sunset. Later, I had to go back over to my sister’s house because something happened to my Dad’s car and had him in need to pick up their car, so my sister wanted me to bring her to get it, but my Dad just so happened to go over there too. So it was a family party (minus my Mom and Michael). Haha. My nephews and I were “in the airplane” (their play tent) going to Disney World. It was so cute. Gio said, “Auntie, get in the plane! We are going to Disney!” Of course I was like “COMING!!” Haha. He told us it would take 10 million hours to get to Disney, so we needed to make sure the plane was packed with snacks and blankets and pillows to sleep. So stinkin’ cute. I just love imaginative play so much!!!
Sunday morning I slept in a bit. Can you believe it?! I knew I probably wasn’t going to go to church because Michael was working, and I just didn’t want to go by myself, so I slept in until about 7:15…OMG! Once I was up, I stepped on the treadmill but realized that I totally pulled something in my hip and it was causing me intense pain whenever I put pressure on my leg. Not good. I stretched, and pushed through a workout of a 40 minute (tried to run) incline walk before hobbling off. Better than nothing, right? Blah. I met my Dad and my brother at the grocery store, then went over to my sister’s house with some donuts for my boos. I played with them, video games and all (even though this Auntie reeeeallyy doesn’t like video games and really isn’t good at them, somehow Gio and I crushed the Incredibles on his Disney Pixar Rush game)! I just can’t get enough of them, I mean, how cute are they!!
Once I came home, I literally did nothing all afternoon besides watch some Real Housewives of Dallas, Real Housewives of New York City, and catch some of a Hallmark movie before Michael got home from work. He was only home for about an hour until he was off again, which is when I went to Starbucks and brought my sister a tea, and stayed over there playing with the boys until around 6. I came home a little while later after picking up a salad for dinner, and watched a past episode of Real Housewives of Potomac (Part 1 of the Reunion). I didn’t watch Part 2 that was on new last night, but I have it recorded in our DVR to watch later on!
This morning started with a 20 minute abs and arm workout, and a 45 minute run/incline walk on the treadmill. I wanted to run at least 4 miles this morning, but since my hip/leg was hurting yesterday (but feels better today, yay!), I decided to wait another day for that. I didn’t want to irritate it again. I don’t have any plans for today, but I hope to spend some time with Michael later on once he gets home from jujitsu training. Side note: I DESPERATELY need to get my nails done. Like it is bad. It has already been three weeks since my last fill, and I have to wait until NEXT Wednesday for my next appointment because my amazing nail artist is on vacation. 🙁 Major sad face. I cannot stand when my nails grow out and they look all ratchet. I don’t even want to think about what they will look like come next week. Blah!
So today (as I mentioned last week), I am officially “starting” the Teami 30 Day Detox! PS: I realize I need to get on the whole “take more pictures” wagon. I have been taking pictures in my Instagram stories (hence why all of these photos on here are from my stories, haha), but haven’t actually taken a picture and saved it. Pretty much a HUGE blogger fail. So, from this point on, I pinky promise to try to take more pictures so you can visually see what’s going on in my life!
