Good morning! Happy Monday! The weekend went by terribly fast, anyone else agree with me? Luckily I am still “weekend-ing” but I just can’t believe how fast it goes by. I say there should be a 2 day work week and a 5 day weekend…yes? 😉 We are in the LAST week in August, my friends! Can you believe September 1 is on Saturday? No. I literally cannot believe that. Children are starting to go back to school this week and it’s so sad. Summer, where did you go?
How was your weekend? Did you do anything super fun? This weekend was just like any other for me; nothing that major and not really that exciting, but such is life. Are you bored with my weekend recaps? I keep telling Michael we need to do some exciting things so I could get some pictures to share, but that has yet to happen…so here is my somewhat picture-less weekend. 😉
Friday: Michael had to work all day until late night, so I was pretty bummed about that. I got out of work, grabbed some teas at Starbucks for my sister and I, and went on over to her house. I played with Gio for a little while Enzo was taking a nap. I stayed over there until about 6ish, came home and ate dinner (I got a salad, duh) while watching Shahs of Sunset. I just love that show so much and I totally was crying with the cast over MJ’s sweet Dad. So sad. I feel so bad for her, but she is a strong lady and I think she will be just fine. After that, to my surprise, I was all caught up on my Bravo shows (omg, what?) and was pretty bummed that I didn’t really have anything left to watch, which had me tuning into the Hallmark Channel to watch a movie (Marrying Mr. Darcy) half way through, which TOTALLY sucked me in and had me cheesy smiling, crying, and then back to cheesy smiling all in the matter of like an hour. Hahaha. I love it.
Saturday: So. Tired. Like really. The week felt super long to me, and I would just love to wake up on a Saturday and not have to go to work. Ugh. Okay, enough complaining though. I got my butt out of bed and started my day with a workout. Bad news is my stupid hip was hurting again. So I stretched, did some yoga, did a 30 minute full body workout, added in some planks, and finished with a 20 minute incline walk on my treadmill. I started reading The Perfect Couple by Elin Hildebrand, and I’m actually almost done and LOVING it! I needed a change of pace from all of the self help books I have been reading. I just needed something fun, something to keep me interested, and this definitely delivers. It is a total page turner (or a page swiper, since I use my Kindle) and keeps me guessing as to what is going to happen! Ahhh! I love it!
To be honest, I was in a complete funk all day. I was just totally feeling down and was in a bad mood. I had the hardest time shaking it, which usually isn’t like me. Michael was working until 9, so I took the opportunity to just chill. I ran some errands after work, and then decided to workout because most of the time that helps to lift my spirits up, but it didn’t really work…for once.
Sunday I woke up at the glorious hour of 7am, people. That hardly ever happens but I allowed myself to sleep in a bit since I was claiming Sunday as a “rest day”. Yeah, you read that correctly. This girl was going to try to take a rest day. I think I needed it. Also, I woke up in a much better mood. You have to decide to be happy. So, I decided to be happy. Once I woke up, I did some reading, drank my Teami Skinny, and got ready for the day. Michael and I went to church and then ran some errands before going to my parent’s house to celebrate Gio’s 5th birthday! I must say, HOW in the world is Gio already going to be 5 years old. It feels like he was just a baby a minute ago. Sweet boy!!
We stayed over my parent’s house for a couple hours before coming back home so Michael could go to his Fantasy Football draft. When he left for that, I went back over to my parent’s for a little while until coming home for the night. Once I got home I did a quick 20 minute cardio circuit (see, I can never just take a rest day, haha), ate dinner and just hung out until Michael got home later on.
Today I woke up after dreaming about vacation…I kid you not….and got my workout on. I ran 3.5 miles on my treadmill, and did some planks afterwards. Side note: we went to Dick’s Sporting Goods yesterday and it reminded me that I REALLY want an elliptical. Like really bad. Michael told me “let’s not go anywhere and you can get that”…no sir, it doesn’t work that way. There is absolutely no room for one in our place, unfortunately. Like no room. So I will get one when we have room someday…thank you very much, and I will keep planning that quick getaway for us. Haha. Joking. (Maybe?) Anyways, Michael is working today (major sad face) and I am getting my hair done later this morning! I don’t know what else I am doing today, but I’m sure I will get to spend time with my nephews at some point. 🙂
