Danger: Bad lighting

Hey hey! Happy Tuesday!

It is my Monday, but I am not complaining, because since it is Tuesday, you know what that means….vacation is SO SOON!! Yay!

The hunt for finding bathing suits continued yesterday. But I have now come to terms with the fact that I won’t have new bathing suits this trip, and really..who cares? Well, I certainly do. But other than me, I shouldn’t really worry about it. I am still going to have a blast!

As I was in search of bathing suits yesterday, I went to a couple stores (Old Navy, TjMaxx) after I got my nails done and there were NO bathing suits in sight! Feeling defeated, I came home for a little while until I went (back to) Target to search for some, even though when I went on Friday it looked like all the sizes were too large. Luckily I found a bunch in smalls and went into the dressing room to try them on!

Seriously. Target (and any store with bad lighting) should have a sign posted up outside of their dressing room saying “Danger: We have bad lighting in these rooms. You are beautiful even though these mirrors and lights trick you into believing you look terrible… and showcase your every flaw. End of story.” Can this please be a thing? I mean, if you want to feel horrible about yourself, grab a few bikinis and head on into their dressing room and then try to tell me that you still feel like a beautiful hottie. OKAY?! No. No way. I was pretty much blinded when I saw myself in the mirror with those bathing suits on. I am not even joking. The lighting is absolutely HORRIBLE! I ripped those bathing suits quickly off of my body, ran out of there, and into my car to come home. To workout. Again. It was quite the experience I tell ya. Once I got home I got in a 30 minute workout and then headed to the tanning salon (I know, I know)…because if you can’t tone it- TAN IT. I love that saying. Even though I am trying to tone it, any help I can get right now I will take. JadedSaltyBats-small.gif

Instead of sulking in my miserable mind of thinking that I looked horrible in ALL the things, I put on some music and decided to shake my booty and shake away the bad mindset and horrible body image thoughts. Because nothing makes you forget about your lousy bikini body in Target like some good music.

After that little dance party, I went to the grocery store to get a couple things and then it was back home for a little while before I went to my parent’s house since the boys were over there. We had loads of fun running up and down my parent’s little hill in their backyard. Enzo had a blast saying “ready, set, GO!” I die at the cuteness.

I left my parent’s house a little after 6, picked up a salad, ran into CVS for a couple things (nothing for our trip, what in the world was I thinking???) and then came home to eat and tune into the E! Live from the Red Carpet at the Emmy’s. I was obsessing over everyone’s perfect dresses and perfect everything!!

Michael worked all day long and finally got home around 8, so once he was home it was time for football and snuggles.

This morning started with about 15 minutes of stretching, since my body is feeeeeling sore today, then I got on the treadmill for a 3.5 mile run. I added in some sprints too, but only a couple. I’m sure I will get in another workout on my lunch break today. I am getting lash extensions done later today and I am SO excited to have pretty lashes again. I also have a nail that came off and is an epic emergency, so hopefully I can get that fixed while I am there too. I can’t go away with a nail missing! AHH!! The horror! (I realize this is first world problems.)

It is raining really hard this morning and I think it is going to last all day (and possibly tomorrow too), which is totally depressing, but I am not going to let that get my spirits down. It is a great week, and soon I will be in paradise!! I am determined to have a good day today, tomorrow, and everyday…rain or no rain! th

I hope you have a wonderful day! Xoxo ♥♥

  1. Ugh, I’m so sorry. Dressing rooms can be the worst experience. Trying on new clothes in general can be hard. A lot of the time, it doesn’t bother me anymore, but occasionally, it just feels disastrous. Shopping with a friend sometimes helps me! And you’re so right, music can turn anything around!

    1. Yes girl! Dressing rooms are just not a good time, unless the lighting is actually good! It was a pretty big disaster. Haha! I hope you are having a great week! Xoxo

  2. Kayla … the mirrors in the dressing rooms are just EVIL. Please don’t feel so pressured to have to be something you’re not. Whenever you post on instagram or on your blog about your daily life I honestly can’t stop thinking about how exciting your life sounds compared to mine and how I wished I could look as good as you in the dresses you wear. So maybe you don’t need NEW stuff this trip and instead wear some of the awesome outfits you’ve worn in the past AND made you look AMAZING! 🙂

    1. Awww, you literally just made my day! Thank you so much! Yes, dressing rooms are evil! I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks so. It is so easy to get caught up in comparing yourself to others, especially people you see on Instagram. I do this often, since I follow so many gorgeous fashion bloggers and dieeee over how gorgeous they are! But I try to remind myself that I am blessed with such an amazing life (you are too!) and remind myself to STOP the comparing game! It is not good for you! I hope you are having a great week! Xoxo
