Weekend Recap: The first weekend in October

Hey hey! Happy Monday! How are you doing today? How was your first weekend of October? Once again, I saw lots of people on social media who went pumpkin and apple picking this weekend, because naturally that is what you do to celebrate the first weekend of October…right? Wrong. This girl didn’t participate in any of that fun again, but I have high hopes this coming weekend will be a different story.

I’m back today with a weekend recap for ya. I actually shared my final post of our Bahamas trip on Saturday, did you miss it? You can find it HERE. Side note: I know what you are all thinking, blogging on a Saturday, miss Kayla? Yes. Yes indeed I blogged on Saturday because that post was supposed to be published on Friday but since I had a super awful headache, I wasn’t even able to look at the computer screen.

My weekend was pretty uneventful and pretty low key, but I got to spend each day with Michael, so it was not bad at all!

Friday: I woke up at 4am with an excruciating headache that was over my left eye and my sinuses. I went back to sleep until about 6 and woke up thinking I would be normal (work out, etc.) but I only worked out for 20 minutes and had to go back to bed. I slept until about 7:50ish, when I woke up thinking I would be fine to shower..and would feel better after it, but was really mistaken. I couldn’t even stand in there and found myself feeling very sick. I had to sit in the shower and just let the (cold) water barely touch me…and that’s when you know I don’t feel good at all….a cold shower? WTF? I am always cold and need hot hot water, but no. When my head is pounding I need cold. Anyways, I laid back down with soaking wet hair and texted my Mom telling her I might not be able to get to work, but took more pain medicine to help this thing. A little bit after, I decided no more. I were to get up, and even though my head was pounding and I felt like I was dying, I got up, put some worship music on and totally forgot my head hurt. I was then able to blow dry and straighten my hair and get ready for the day….still not 100%, but my head didn’t hurt to the point where I thought I was dying. So, great! I got donuts for my nephews and brought them over to them before I went to work. I can’t explain how much I MISSED them, especially Gio since he is in school full day now. I think he grew taller than the last time I saw him. Oh my heart. I came home for lunch and that’s when it all went downhill from there…I went to the bank on my way back to work, and had that excruciating pain again in my head. Thankfully my Mom let me leave and just come right back home. I ended up napping and stayed laying down until I had my lash appointment. With a headache, I thought it was a bad idea to get my lash extensions filled, but it turned out to be better than expected since she massaged my face and relieved some of the pressure from this headache. (So appreciated). I came home and pretty much laid low for the rest of the night with Michael. I am so lucky to have him, especially since he can rub me and tickle me when I am in need of comforting. *Fun fact about me: I love being tickled. Growing up I would make my Mama tickle my arm to sleep, and along with that, I would have my Memere tickle my arm every chance I got. Haha.

Saturday: Throughout the night I kept waking up due to that headache, but thought it would be gone by the morning. I was mistaken, and by the time I woke up at 6, I took pain medicine in hopes that would help the pain. I actually could workout after that, which was good. I ran 3.5 miles and did a 20 minute ab circuit. The dreaded headache never went away and was totally annoying me but I worked until mid afternoon. Sadly my headache made me feel sick again so I came home to lay in bed until Michael got home from work. Luckily, he didn’t have many plans after work so he laid down with me for about an hour before we went to the grocery store and picked up some food for dinner. The good news is laying in our dark bedroom for a couple hours helped my headache and I felt like I was alive and human again! We watched TV until it was time for the UFC fights, where I watched Frozen and he watched that.

Sunday: It was a glorious morning because I WOKE UP HEADACHE FREE!! Praise Jesus! I actually slept terrible Saturday night, so I was so excited to be headache free despite that lousy sleep I got. With a smile on my face, I started the morning with a 30 minute full body circuit and got ready for the day. Michael and I went to church and when we got home he went to jujitsu while I went to see my Mama and then went to my sister’s house for some play time with my boos. I got home around 12:30, and hopped on the treadmill for a 30 minute incline walk. since I didn’t in the morning. The rest of the day was spent with Michael…we ran some errands, and watched a ton of football.

This morning: It’s a gloomy and rainy day outside. But that’s alright because I am still “weekend-ing” over here! My workout this morning was a 4 mile run and then I finished it off with some planks. I must say, I am very happy today, and it made me even happier to know I got in a good workout. It is a great day!! I have a nail appointment this morning, plan on seeing my nephews, and have plans for Michael and I to go to the mall to get his phone screen fixed finally (and go shopping, duhhh). By the way, Express is having their 40% off sale, but you better hurry because TODAY is the last day for it!!

I’m not sure if I will be blogging tomorrow. Michael has a procedure in Boston so we will be at the hospital for most of the day. Prayers are greatly appreciated!!

Have a beautiful day, loves! Xoxo ♥♥
