Weekend Recap: A breakfast date!

Hello! Happy Monday friends! How are you doing today? Instead of feeling the ‘Monday Blues’, let’s be happy and thankful for all of our blessings in this beautiful life!

We all know I love Monday since I am still weekend-ing over here, which is nice since I don’t ever wake up on Monday and think “ugh, Monday”. But then again, WHY would I (or any of you),  wake up any day of the week and instantly think “ugh”..that should totally NOT be!! How sad to think that I (or you) would wake up in the morning and instantly think “UGH!”?!? That seriously makes me sad. We should wake up happy to see another day! Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t always feel this way, and I didn’t always wake up in a good mood, my husband can attest to this, he thinks its because I desperately need coffee, and while this is true, it is partly because my mindset wasn’t right! I had to change that!! Do you ever wake up thinking “ugh” or feeling like you just don’t have anything to jump out of bed for each morning? Change it! You ALWAYS have something to jump out of bed for! Try to reset your mind and think of all of the POSITIVE things in your life. Just think…we are half way through October, which means we are really close to the new year. Do you want to live the rest of your days in 2018 being unhappy and thinking “ugh” every single day you wake up? I know I don’t. YOU have the opportunity to live the rest of 2018, and the rest of your life, as a happy person! Go get it girlfriend!

Okay, now that I got that out, I hope you are all smiling and have made the decision to be HAPPY!! Let’s get on with my weekend recap post! 😉

Saturday: I started my Saturday morning completely wiping out on the floor at 6am. Let me explain: (unless you’ve already seen my Instagram story on Saturday, in which you know what I am going to say) we left the window cracked open all night without knowing that it was going to be reaching FRIGID temperatures here in MA., so I was running into the kitchen the second I woke up to close said window, but on my way I completely wiped out and fell on my face. I think I slipped on some water (since Michael so nicely forgot to clean up the water the spilt from the water cooler before going to work) and just totally fell. It was probably hilarious but in the moment I was thinking to myself “omg. Am I okay? Am I hurt?” and kind of just stayed on the floor for a minute until I realized I just banged my knee a little and was totally fine. Ha! Of course I would run to the window and fall first thing in the morning. 😉 Since I wasn’t hurt, I decided to change my morning around with a workout. I started with a circuit of 25 squats, 25 crunches, 25 push ups, 25 burpees, and 30 second planks…repeating that 3 times through. (Side note: I pretty much create my own workouts/warm ups like this every morning, unless I am doing a workout I saw previously on social media or one from Tone It Up.) Then continued with a 3 mile run on the treadmill. I had to work until mid afternoon, and came home to hangout with Michael. It was a very low key day/night. We ran a couple errands that included going to the apple orchard (in which I totally called the apple orchard the apple “farm” and Michael couldn’t stop laughing at me…thanks, boo. Glad I am entertaining) to get a couple bags of Red Delicious apples…so, you see we didn’t actually go apple picking, but we did get some fresh apples! Ha! Maybe this weekend we will get ourselves to the apple orchard to PICK some apples!! Time is running out! Ah! Once home, we watched a couple of our shows we had in our DVR, and went to bed pretty early. And obviously when I say “early” you know it sure is early since I usually am asleep by 10pm the latest, Saturday night I was asleep by 9:30 since Michael had fallen asleep even earlier than me!

Sunday: I started the day with a 4 mile incline walk on my treadmill…usually Sunday is a day I make a “rest day” but my workouts were all over the place last week and I didn’t workout on Wednesday, so no Sunday rest day for me!

Michael and I went to church, and after he totally surprised me with asking “Do you want to go to breakfast?” Ummm WHAT! YES! Of course I was super excited to be going on a Sunday morning breakfast date with my husband after a wonderful service at church! 🙂 I drove us to Worcester where we went to Lou Roc’s (obviously) for breakfast! img_1364

The wait wasn’t too long, and luckily we only had to wait outside for about 10 minutes before waiting another 15 inside. It was pretty cold out, especially with the wind.

Once seated, we ordered some deeeeelicious coffee (and water). Even though I drank a little bit of my Dunkin’ coffee before church, I desperately needed more.

For breakfast, I ordered a bowl of fruit (they only had strawberries and bananas) and a toasted (dry) english muffin.

Michael ordered a whole lot, because you cannot go to breakfast and order something small like I do. 😉 He ordered scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, and wheat toast. He also ordered their pumpkin pecan pie pancakes topped with cream cheese frosting because those babies are seasonal and he is LIVING HIS BEST LIFE! 😉 Side note: He did not finish all this food. We brought the left overs home for him to eat later. 

After breakfast, we came home to watch football all afternoon. I seriously trick myself into thinking that once a football game is over we can watch something else on TV, but then I realize that another football game is ALWAYS on after/during another game. Like, Sunday is literally the day of football. Later in the afternoon, we went over to my parent’s house since my sister and my nephews were there. We had lots of fun running around outside playing. I think the boys were more excited to see Uncle Michael than me, but I loved it. 😉

We got home and (surprise!) the football game that Michael wanted to watch wasn’t on any channel on our TV, so he watched it on his phone while I watched the latest episode of Shahs of Sunset. Guys, I seriously have SO MANY shows on our DVR that I need to catch up on! Maybe this week I will dig into some of them?! We’ll see. Once Shahs was over we put on the Patriots game, where I fell asleep by like 9:45 and was OUT! (Happy they won though, YAY Pats!)

This morning: Today was one of those days where I could have stayed in bed all day, but the thought of doing that made me feel super mopey so I decided to JUMP out of bed and put a smile on my face. You see what I did there? You make your own happiness and if you decide the second you wake up that you are unhappy, well then you ARE unhappy and nothing will change your mind. Fix that! Be HAPPY!!

My workout today started with 3 rounds of 30 jumping jacks, 30 squats, 30 crunches, 30 push ups, 30 mountain climbers, 30 second forearm plank, and 30 second side planks (30 seconds on each side). After 3 rounds of that, I got on the treadmill for a 2 mile run, followed by a 1 mile incline walk.

Today makes exactly TWO weeks until we leave for Disney World and I am SO EXCITED!!! I am also excited today is a day of no appointments for me, since Monday’s are usually a day where I either have my hair/nails/lash appointments, but not this week!   I am taking it slow this morning and really enjoying not having to be anywhere at a certain time!

I won’t be blogging tomorrow since Michael has an appointment, but I will be back on Wednesday with a new post 🙂 Be sure to follow me on my Instagram stories if you feel like you will miss me or something. (Haha, joking).
