Hi friends! Happy Monday! I hope you had a fabulous weekend. The sun is shining and even though there is still a chill in the air it feels like spring is hopefully coming soon!
My weekend was a good one! It felt great to get back to church since last Sunday we had a snow storm. Michael and I got to spend some time together as well as time with friends and family! I got in a bunch of workouts, cleaned our apartment (well, this is a normal everyday thing, haha), caught up on some of our shows, and snuck in time to relax too! We also didn’t really celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at all besides the fact that I wore a green tank top…oops. In our defense, we aren’t at all Irish. Did you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day?
Michael and I re watched Creed 2 since it came out on RedBox and were reminded of how good the movie was. We saw it in theaters when it first came out and I quickly remembered that I had felt every single emotion in those 2 hours of watching because I felt them all over again when we watched the other night. Haha. Funny thing is we watched the first Creed movie too because it was on tv last night! Love when that happens!
We were blessed with some really nice weather on Friday, I’m talking like it was in the 60’s and I was loving every second of it. There’s something about sunshine and spring-like weather that just perks you right up! Don’t you agree? My Friday workout looked a bit different than I had “planned” but it was killer. I started with a quick 2 mile run and then got my booty kicked in strength & HIIT on obé…usually on Friday morning the live classes at 7 & 7:30 are sculpt & dance but the schedule changed on their end and the trainer teaching those classes knew that I needed my butt to be handed to me, I was panting like a dog the whole time. Haha. I even took a trip to TjMaxx on Friday afternoon since it was so nice out and I didn’t want to be stuck inside the house. I find that it is SO MUCH easier for me to get out and do things if it is nicer weather and not frigid cold! Does that happen to you too?? I bought a bunch of new workout tanks, which was exactly what I went there for. I call that a win! Sometimes when I go there for a specific thing I leave empty handed, but I lucked out!
I surprised myself with a 5 mile run on the treadmill on Saturday morning. I wasn’t planning on running that much (I know, it’s not “a lot”, but I usually run only a couple miles before moving on), but it just felt good and I wanted to keep it going. After that, I did a sculpt class on obé replay. I also went crayyyy and cleaned our apartment like a woman on a mission! I took time to drink my coffee as I snuggled on the couch to watch Home Alone…but then I realized one of my favorite trainers (I say this about every trainer, hahahaha) was teaching a live dance class at 10:30 on obé. So, I joined in on it. I was feeling really anxious prior to the class and I knew working out and moving my body would help calm me down. I felt 100 times better after that class and moved on with my day!
Michael and I had plans to go over to one of his coworkers’ house with some of his other coworkers for dinner. Their house was a little more than an hour away from us, so we had to leave somewhat early. We had a great time hanging out with everyone…the couple that was hosting has a 1 year old and he is just so cute! Michael and I loved that. I didn’t take any pictures or anything because I didn’t want to be THAT annoying person on her phone the whole night, taking pictures of everyone. So, I would say that we were just living in the moment! Anyways, we ended up getting home after 10 and this grandma was tireddddd. I had to drive home and let me tell you a little secret, I don’t like driving in the dark, and add onto that not knowing where you’re going and having to drive your husband’s truck home to the mix, and it is not so fun. Haha. It was just fine but by the time we were 20 minutes into the car ride I was trying not to panic because it felt like I had been driving for hours and haven’t made any progress at all..all I could think of was our bed and getting in my pajmmies hahaha. Figures, the one night Michael drives us somewhere and I end up having to drive his car home. Whomp whomp. But regardless, we had a great night and once we got home, we both had a snack and then went to sleep. Big party animals over here!
6am came too fast since I kept tossing and turning all night and didn’t really sleep that well the night before. But, have no fear. This girl got her butt up and out of bed at 6:15 for a workout. Yes, I was tired. No, I didn’t want to get up and workout. BUT it is SO important for me to workout in the morning before the day starts. So, I got my booty moving! The circuit class I did on obé replay was absolutely killer and I was drenched in sweat the whole time. Crazy what just 28 minutes of constant work can do to you! I’m actually really glad it was such a hard workout because I normally like to do at least 2 workout classes or at least run on the treadmill too, so since I was just going to do 1 class that morning I kind of felt disappointed that I wasn’t going to do another….BUT that class was insane, so it made it okay.
Like I had mentioned, we didn’t at all celebrate St. Patrick’s Day besides the fact that I rocked a green “Not lucky, blessed” tank top all day long. 😉
Michael and I went to church, then as he went to jujitsu when we got home I went to Target and the grocery store. I don’t know if something was in the air or what, because I can’t even tell you the amount of times I apologized and said excuse me to people that were bumping into me….I sort of felt like I was invisible or something. Ever feel like that? It is horrible. Surprisingly I made it home in one piece and still just as happy as I was before getting shoveled around by rude people. (Sometimes when that happens I can totally become a grouch…for good reason, none the less.)
Michael and I went over to my parent’s house to celebrate my nephew Enzo’s 3rd birthday! He turned 3 on Thursday, as I mentioned in my last blog post, and we finally all celebrated his little cute self this weekend!
Both Enzo and Gio were equally as excited about the presents and were such good boys sharing and taking turns with each other (sometimes not the case). Oh gosh guys, my heart just explodes around those boys. He (they) got some pretty great presents and had a bunch of fun making lots of noise and playing with all the new things.
We came back home a little bit later and I don’t know about you, but there’s no greater feeling than putting on some pajammie pants, taking your bra off (ladies, you know what I’m talking about), and snuggling on the couch until bedtime.
This morning was the start of a new challenge that obé is doing, it’s called the Renew You Challenge which is 21 days of renewing your confidence, your outlook and your commitment to health and self-care. You know I am ALL FOR these challenges since they include special workout classes! Just like the New Year Best You Challenge they had in the beginning of the year that I participated in, each week obé gives you a challenge 45 minute level up mash up workout class with 2 trainers as well as a couple express ones, and tips to stay on track. With this challenge, it is all about creating healthy habits for yourself and sticking to them. Every week for the next 3 weeks they will add on a new healthy habit. This week is to drink 100oz of water everyday, and take a daily probiotic. Lucky for me I already drink 100oz+ of water daily, but I don’t take a probiotic. Maybe I will start? I’m not too sure yet. Do you take a daily probiotic? This week’s 45 minute workout class is a strength & sculpt mash up class that has me literally feeling like jello afterwards. Haha. I’ll be redoing that workout later this week….yikes! It was really fun but mannnn am I already sore or what!
Michael and I will be in Boston this afternoon because he has a doctors appointment. I’m praying we miss all of the traffic! Fingers crossed!
