Hello! Happy Monday! Can you believe it is the last Monday of 2019?! So crazy to think that in just two days it will be a new year! I am so ready for it, but in the mean time I am going to try to savor these last two days in 2019. It has been a great year!
Before diving into today’s post, I want to wish a big huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my Mama! She is the most supportive, most loving, and most kind Mama in the whole world and I am so grateful for her! I love you, Mama!!
I’m coming at you today, in a snow/ice storm (gross), with a weekend recap for ya! How was your weekend? Did you do anything super fun? My weekend was pretty much the same as every weekend, however I got to spend a lot of time with my birthday boy!
Weekend Recap: The Last Weekend of 2019!
I woke up on Saturday morning for a Pilates & HIIT class on obé. I admit I have been totally sleeping in while I’ve had these days off from work and it feels glorious…I am not going to do well with that 5am wake up call come Thursday morning. I have totally been enjoying being able to be in my “old normal” routine of getting my sweat on, having coffee and eating breakfast (without rushing), cleaning, and staying home. I mayyyy want that to be my life again but of course, I have to be an adult and go back to work in a couple days. Whomp whomp.
I got my nails done mid-morning for a nail refresh for the new year. However, my thumb nail polish completely chipped off the next day so apparently I am going to have to deal with ratchet looking nails for the next three weeks and I am pretty much going crazy about it. BUT, if that is my only problem than I am doing really good with life these days. I know that is not at all a problem and I am counting my blessings.
I got home just in time for a dance hiit class with one of my favorite trainers on obé before getting ready to head out with Michael.
We went to our most favorite jewelry store to see our jeweler and of course to have my rings cleaned. It had been way too long since I got those babies all sparkly clean and they definitely needed it! Wouldn’t want to go into the new year with dirty rings, would I?! 😉
My mind has drawn a blank and I can’t even remember what we did Saturday night, but I’m sure it just looked like any other night around here; catching up on our shows, relaxing, and in bed by 9:30. (Yes, 9:30, not 8:30…I’ve been a bit wild these days and stayed up later..HAHA)
Sunday was Michael’s 31st birthday! I got up at 6:30 to ‘decorate’ the apartment with signs and banners to celebrate his birthday and placed his present under the tree, because YES we still have our tree up and I am enjoying these last few days with it up. I did a 45 minute (well, it was 52 minutes, not 45) replay sculpt class on obé before getting ready for the day!
I had asked Michael on Saturday night what he wanted to do for his birthday, since last year I had planned a very fun night out but he didn’t want to do that, and his response was “nothing”. LOL! We are total opposites when it comes to birthdays; I love my birthday and he could care less about his, but even still I wanted him to have a good day and know that he is loved and celebrated! “Nothing” is pretty much what we did, but I greatly enjoyed it.
We went to church in the morning, and I went to the grocery store while the birthday boy went to the gym afterwards. He took a long nap while I lazied on the couch, then joined in a dance hiit class on obé with (again) one of my favorite trainers.
Once Michael was up from his nap, we went to a couple stores (to find a present for the birthday girl, my Mama) and ran a couple errands knowing today was going to be icy outside.
We spent Michael’s birthday evening watching Angel Has Fallen on demand, if you follow me on Instagram and watched my stories while watching the movie, you will know that I was freaking out and could not breathe. Haha. So dramatic. I don’t know what it is, maybe I have been watching way too many Hallmark movies or something because I could not handle it. I am such a wimp. HAHA! But it was a great movie, at the end! I loved the first two movies so I knew I would like this one too.
And now, here we are; it is the last Monday of 2019 and the last week before I “really” start my new job (since my first week was just “training” in the classroom), and the last week before Michael pursues his new (super exciting and really positive) career change. Eek! So many anxious feelings but they are good anxious.
Wishing you a great Monday!! XOXO!
How did you spend your weekend?
Do you love birthdays like me?
