My Pregnancy: Weeks 19 & 20

Hello! Happy Friday to you! I hope you have been having a good week! Mine has been full of ups & downs: a big ‘up’ is that Michael is now home with me!! He got to come home Tuesday night! The ‘down’ is we had a little COVID scare since two people were tested positive for it where he was, but another ‘up’ is Michael tested negative! So now I am officially 100% HAPPY that he is home with me and doesn’t ever have to leave me all week long anymore.

We’re halfway to meeting our Baby Joey!! I cannot believe it! This pregnant is flying by so far, and I am so grateful to be enjoying every second of it!

Bump Updates:

Week 19

Baby is the size of a mango. I started feeling baby flutters this week & we found out baby is a BOY for my birthday!

Week 20

Baby is the size of mama’s favorite, a banana! The flutters quickly turned into kicks and baby boy is very active in there!

I’m still feeling really good! Besides feeling this baby boy kick and move around in there and this growing bump, I don’t really “feel” pregnant with like symptoms and/or feeling unwell or anything. I’m still just feeling extremely happy and trying to enjoy every second of this pregnancy!

Food Cravings/Aversions:

Nothing too exciting to share about “cravings”. I don’t crave anything. I’m a weirdo. Haha!

Sleeping has been either real good or bad; either I sleep all night or wake up a couple times throughout the night and have a hard time going back to sleep. With Michael being home now, I have been sleeping very good this week! Luckily my bump isn’t really causing me any discomfort or anything when I sleep, but I am sure that once it gets bigger further on I will start to feel discomfort.

20 weeks is officially when I “need” to start modifying my workouts with no lying on my back. However, I have been avoiding this since I hit 18/19 weeks, and I have been doing mainly prenatal safe classes and when I do a “normal” class, I just modify when it’s something that I shouldn’t be doing. As usual, I have been modifying most core exercises and not doing any twisting or crunching moves. I’m SO grateful that I am still able to workout every day and keep up the motivation and energy!! obé is keeping me healthy during my pregnancy!

Excited About/Looking Forward To:

I’m looking forward to feeling more baby kicks, and hopefully soon Michael will be able to feel the kicks from the outside! I am also looking forward to having this bump grow, believe it or not! I am fully embracing being pregnant and trying to embrace this growing body!

Doctors Appointments/Updates:

I had baby’s anatomy scan last week, which reassured me that baby boy is HEALTHY and everything is measuring/growing up to speed! Ultrasounds are my favorite part of this, and I just love being able to get a glimpse inside my tummy at what baby Joey is doing in there. During my ultrasound, he was sticking his tongue out at me, swallowing, and moving around in there.

We bought a home fetal doppler to be able to hear baby boy’s heartbeat at home. I am very happy that Michael is able to hear that heartbeat in person since he hasn’t been at any of my appointments or anything. It is the sweetest sound, and I think he agrees. We can’t wait to feel that heartbeat on our chests in September!!

Can’t believe we are half way to meeting our Joey Russell!!!! Eeeek!
