Hello! Anybody there?! Wow, has it been a while since I’ve been on here to write. And boy do I miss it! I’m hoping I’ll be able to get on here in the new year and write more. I hope you had great holidays and are looking forward to the new year! We had a great first Thanksgiving and Christmas with Joey, so many firsts!
Seeing as tomorrow is a new year, I figured I would hop on here and share a letter I wrote to 2020, it was a very good (and yes, a challenging) year for me.
You were cruel and lonely to some, but to me you were mostly full of excitement, joy, love, and many answered prayers. You were one of my most favorite years amongst all of the chaos. You were the year that brought me my sweet baby boy, the year I became a Mama. You were the year my husband achieved his greatest dream of becoming a state trooper, and the year he became a Daddy.
But let’s not forget you were also the year my husband wasn’t allowed in for ultrasounds, the year I was alone a lot since my husband was in the academy & I couldn’t see my family for a while, the year I sat on the couch (pregnant) in tears watching the news of what was happening to our police during protests scared for my husband’s safety, the year I had to wait to meet my niece for a month after she was born, the year I stopped watching all news channels in disbelief of what was happening in our country, and the year I most definitely prayed more than ever.
2020 made us slow down, made us appreciate our health, made us extremely grateful for family time, made us realize how important toilet paper is (haha), made us really appreciate and miss warm hugs, and being able to see people’s smiles.
In the beginning of the year I had no idea we would be ending the year with our precious baby boy, would be moving soon (yay!!), and would be a now family of three.
With everything going on in our country, I would be lying if I didn’t say I was a little nervous about what the new year will be like, but I know that no matter what happens God always has the best plans for us and has got us covered!
Wishing you a beautiful New Years Eve, stay safe and well. I will “see” you in the new year, and in the mean time you can follow along on my instagram if you don’t already. I usually am posting mostly baby spam but hey I cant help it 😉
